EPISODE 2 CUT PICS

In the scene where the youths are out on the desert after the encounter with the cave-dwellers, there was a close-up shot of Kogane (Keith) (Figure 1) that was cut from Voltron.

The upwards camera pan of Castle Altea (Figures 2 & 3) during the youths' walk up to the battered building was not cut from Voltron but was cropped to eliminate the on-screen Japanese text.

As Gunshi (Raible) speaks, Seidou (Hunk) maintains his guard keeps his weapon raised (Figure 4). After Gunshi (Coran) tells the youths they are the saviours of Altea (Arus), a confused Kogane (Keith) asks "Saviours?" (Figure 5), to which Gunshi (Coran) silently nods in response (Figure 6).

"Altea Kingdom ..." says Kogane (Keith) when the youths realise they are on Planet Altea (Arus) (Figure 7). Shirogane (Sven) tells his friends that Gunshi (Coran) doesn't seem to be an enemy (Figure 8). Gunshi (Coran) proceeds to tell the youths what happened to the castle and Altea (Arus) many years before. As Gunshi (Coran) speaks, he flashes back to Daibarzaal's (Zarkon) forces attacking. Their presence was made felt when one of the command ships loomed above the streets of Altea (Arus) (Figure 9) ...

... before flying over Castle Altea, flanked by several attack ships (Figure 10). After the Galra (Doom) ships open fire, several people are shown in static shots being killed (Figures 11 & 12).

As Gunshi (Coran) continues to speak after his flashback, Kogane and his friends listen on (Figures 13 & 14). Gunshi (Coran) then turns his body to face all five youths (Figure 15).

As Gunshi (Coran) continues talking, the camera does a left-to-right pan from behind the military instructor's back (Figures 16 & 17). Suddenly, he lashes out with his walking stick (Figure 18)!

Chibi (Pidge) and Seidou (Hunk) see the strike coming at them and leap out of the way (Figure 19), causing Gunshi (Coran) to miss them (Figure 20). Gunshi (Coran) then turns his attention to Kogane (Keith) and Kurogane (Lance) (Figure 21) ...

... and swings his walking stick again. Kurogane (Lance) leaps out of the way and Kogane (Keith) ducks the blow (Figure 22). As he kneels, Kogane (Keith) realises Gunshi (Coran) is coming down with an overhead blow so he stands up and blocks it with his spear (Figure 23). Seidou (Hunk) and Chibi (Pidge) then land behind Gunshi (Coran) and Seidou (Hunk) demands to know the reason for the attack (Figure 24).

Kogane (Keith) also wants to know the reason for the attack (Figure 25). Lowering his walking stick, Gunshi (Coran) explains that he was testing their skills (Figure 26). In a long-off shot, he ads that he as seen their strengths (Figure 27).

As Farla (Allura) walks down the stairs after making her appearance, Gunshi (Coran) tells her that the youths have come to rescue her (Figure 28). As he tells the youths of the attack by Daibarzaal (Zarkon) fifteen years ago, he has another flashback, which starts off with an explosion (Figure 29). As the flashback plays on, Gunshi (Coran) says that under the orders of King Raimon (Alfor), he escaped from the castle with the infant Farla (Allura) (Figure 30).

As Gunshi's (Coran) flashback comes to an end, a close-up of baby Farla's (Allura) face is shown (Figure 31). After making her way to the bottom of the stairs, Farla (Allura) she tearily speaks and at one point compares Daibarzaal (Zarkon) with the devil (Figure 32). The camera then pans up to the top of the stairs where a painting of two unidentified people hangs on the wall (Figure 33).

As Farla (Allura) says she would like to fight against Daibarzaal (Zarkon), Kogane (Keith), Shirogane (Sven) and Kurogane (Lance) listen to her (Figure 36).

Chibi (Pidge) also listen to Farla (Allura) as she says she would like to fight against Daibarzaal (Zarkon) (Figure 37). Gunshi (Coran) tells the youths they are the heroes who will pilot GoLion (Figure 38). After the youths pledge to fight against Daibarzaal (Zarkon), Farla (Allura) raises her hand for them to kiss (Figure 39).

After Kogane (Keith) kisses her hand, Farla smiles (Figure 40). Shirogane (Sven) and Seidou then kiss Farla's (Allura) hand (Figures 41 & 42).

Chibi (Pidge) also kisses Farla's hand (Figure 43). Kurogane (Lance) then attempts to kiss her hand (Figure 44), but when she is startled by a noise outside she naturally retracts her hand and Kurogane (Lance) ends up kissing his own by accident (Figure 45).

Kurogane (Lance) lets off a shocked and disgusted reaction from kissing his own hand (Figure 46).

As Galra (Doom) forces arrive on Altea (Arus), the camera pans down from the sky to a group of scared Alteans (Arusians) who are watching the ships (Figures 47 & 48). Among the Alteans (Arusians) are a woman and her baby (Figure 49) ...

... and a man and his partner (Figure 50).

After stepping in with their new uniforms on, the youths are complimented on their appearance by Gunshi (Coran), which elicits an embarassed response from Kurogane (Lance) (Figure 51). Shirogane (Sven) asks Gunshi (Coran) where GoLion is (Figure 52). This shot wasn't cut from Voltron but was trimmed down -- we never see Sven speak.
